Welcome to the Crouch Area Yachting Federation (CAYF)

CAYF is a federation of sailing and boating clubs that are based on the rivers Crouch and Roach in Essex. It exists to represent the interests of member clubs, and does so mainly by providing delegates to the Crouch Harbour Authority Advisory Committee and the Port User Group. CAYF is named in the Crouch Harbour Act for this reason. CAYF also provides delegates to the RYA Eastern Region Committee. We also work with other groups including the Heads of River Combined Clubs Committee, the Roach Fairways and Conservation Committee, and South East Coastal Rowing Forum.

CAYF has 26 member Clubs and Associations.

CAYF provides a communication forum for leisure boating clubs in the Crouch and Roach areas. There is an Annual General Meeting for all CAYF Clubs in January, but otherwise it operates through various forums or directly with  between Clubs, boatyards and associations that use the rivers and creeks.
